VISA EXEMPTION FOR IRISH ORDINARY PASSPORT HOLDERS AS OF MARCH 2, 2020
The Government of the Republic of Türkiye has decided to grant visa exemption effective from March 2, 2020 for Irish ordinary passport holders who wish to visit Türkiye for solely tourism or business purposes in their travels up to 90 days within 180 days.
For any other purposes such as work, study, language course, internship, archeological excavation, documentary shooting etc. visa is required regardless of the type of Irish passport and visa application should be submitted to Turkish Embassies or Consulates after pre-application process through the website www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/visa.
However; Irish official/service, diplomatic passport and travel document holders are still required to obtain visa through the same no matter what their purpose of visit is.
The Embassy reminds that the tourism or business visas issued to Irish ordinary passports by the Embassy before the date of March 2, 2020 are still valid, however the fees of which are not refundable.
